椎間板ヘルニアとは？
- 背骨（脊椎）を構成する椎骨と椎骨の間のクッションの役割をしている椎間板が、脊髄を圧迫して、神経マヒを起こしてしまう病気です。
- 突然触られるのを嫌がったり、階段の昇降を嫌がる、歩き方がおかしい、立ち上がれない、歩けない、などの症状が見られたら、椎間板ヘルニアの疑いがあるかもしれません。
- 特にダックスやビーグル、W.コーギーなどのワンちゃんで起こりやすく、手遅れになると神経マヒのため立てなくなってしまう可能性もあります。
- しかし早期に診断し、治療をすれば症状が改善することも多くみられます。

- 椎間板ヘルニアが疑わしい症状が愛犬に見られたら出来る限り早く御来院ください。
- 問診、触診、必要に応じて神経学的検査、血液検査、レントゲン検査を行ない、椎間板ヘルニアが疑わしければ、脊髄造影検査をご提示致します。
- 脊髄造影検査を行う際、麻酔を施す必要があります。その時のリスクを少しでも軽減するために、予め念入りな血液検査を行わせていただきます。
- また、手術の際は、さらに安全を期すために、血液の凝固系（血液の固まりやすさ）の検査も行います。

- 当院にて脊髄造影検査を行います。
- 脊髄造影検査によって、椎間板ヘルニアの確定診断を行います。
- 検査結果より、椎間板ヘルニアを発症している部位の特定、その重症度、手術適応の有無について診断いたします。
- 手術適応と判断された場合、当院にて手術を行います

3. 手術
- 脊髄造影検査によって正確に特定された部位に手術を行います。
- 椎間板ヘルニアの手術は神経を傷つける可能性のある手術ですが、当院では専門に勉強した獣医師がこの手術に携わる為、非常に安全に行う事ができます。

4. リハビリ
- 術後は抜糸までの約１４日間入院させ、ケージレストにてしっかり管理していきます。
- ワンちゃんそれぞれの病状に併せて、レーザー、鍼治療、歩行訓練などといったリハビリを選択し、スタートします。
